paniq's picture

For those eagerly waiting to release your demos and intros on this years Evoke 2006 (08/11 - 08/13, Cologne, Germany), I have a small surprise. This year, Evoke and LinuxDemos.org will be supporting demo development on Linux by donating additional prize money for the highest placed Linux entry in the demo/64K intro/4K intro section. Who said communism is not about money? The penguin will make you filthy rich!*

  • 100 Euro for highest placed Linux Demo
  • 50 Euro for highest placed Linux 64k Intro
  • 30 Euro for highest placed Linux 4k Intro

These are the compo PC specifications:

We hope that this will encourage people to make kool demo shock to linux users brain, and also help them ease the initial pain of getting more familiar with Linux. Jump on board! (There are prizes for OSX too. just so you know.)

One last request: if you can, please release your demo along with the sourcecode to make porting easier for people who want to spread your demo. The size of the sourcecode will not count in the binaries total size. If you choose an appropriate licence (GPL/LGPL/BSD-MIT), your rights are legally safe (this is more important than you might think).

* only if you place highest, of course.
